Application description

Widely used in oil and gas, petrochemical, power plants, water treatment, HVAC, and fire protection piping systems to create branch connections from main pipelines. Equal tees are for same-diameter branches; reducing tees for smaller branch lines; lateral tees (45°) for smoother flow direction changes; barred tees for piggable systems. Enables efficient fluid distribution and collection.

Production description

Pipe or plate is cut and shaped by hot extrusion, hydraulic bulging, or cold forming. For large diameters, segments are welded. The branch opening is formed, sized, heat treated, then ends beveled or threaded. Inspection includes dimensional check and optional NDT.

Shipping Packaging

For export, tees are packed in wooden crates or on ISPM-15 pallets, each layer separated with foam or cardboard. Machined bevel ends and threads are protected with plastic caps or rust preventive oil. Labels include size, grade, schedule, type (equal/reducing), and heat number for safe sea freight.

Why Choose Us?

1.Factory Strength: Direct manufacturer with hot extrusion presses, hydraulic bulging machines, and segmental welding lines, producing equal and reducing tees from 1/2" to 72" in seamless and welded construction to ASME B16.9/B16.11, EN 10253, GB/T 12459 standards.

2.Quality Assurance: Strict control of wall thinning (≤12.5% of nominal), branch intersection geometry, bevel dimensions, and dimensional accuracy (center-to-end, alignment); 100% dimensional inspection; NDT (MT, PT, UT) optional. Material traceability fully maintained.

3.Certifications & Reports: Mill test certificates (MTC) for raw materials and finished tees with each shipment; third-party inspections (SGS, BV) and NDT reports (MT/PT/UT) available upon request.

4.Customization & Service: Wide material range (carbon steel A234 WPB, A105; stainless steel WP304/316/321; alloy steel WP11/WP22/WP91), all schedules (Sch10–XXS), reducing ratios (any custom branch size), lateral tees (45°), barred tees, and hot-dip galvanizing or coating with fast lead times.

5.Export Packaging: Plastic end caps (on bevels/threads) + anti-rust oil + foam layer separation + wooden crates/ISPM-15 pallets + steel strapping + clear labeling for safe sea freight and end protection.

FAQ

1. How to store steel tees to prevent rust and end damage?

Store in clean, dry indoor area. Keep plastic end caps or rust preventive coating on bevels, threads, and bore surfaces. Stack on wooden pallets with foam or cardboard between layers to avoid scratching. For long-term storage, maintain humidity below 60% and use VCI paper.

2. When should I choose an equal tee vs a reducing tee?

Equal tee is used when the branch line has the same nominal size as the main run, allowing full flow diversion or distribution. Reducing tee is used when the branch line has a smaller diameter than the main run, saving space and reducing material cost. Specify the branch size and run size clearly when ordering.

3. What is a barred tee and where is it used?

A barred tee has an internal bar or cross-piece near the branch outlet to prevent pipeline cleaning pigs from entering the branch. It is used in piggable pipelines (oil, gas, slurry) where the pig must stay in the main line. The bar diameter and spacing are designed to allow flow while blocking pig entry.
