Application description
Widely used in fire protection systems (sprinkler lines), water supply and drainage, natural gas and compressed air pipelines, scaffolding connections, and oil/gas transmission (API threaded casing and tubing). The threaded ends enable quick, reliable assembly without welding. Helically ribbed tubes (internal or external) are extensively used in heat exchangers, boilers, condensers, and economizers to enhance heat transfer efficiency and reduce fouling.

Production description
For end-threaded pipes: Plain steel pipe is cut to length, then threads are formed by rolling or cutting on one or both ends. Protective caps or couplings are applied. For helically ribbed tubes: A plain tube is passed through a cold rolling head that creates internal and/or external helical ribs. The tube is then inspected for thread/rib profile and dimensional accuracy.

Shipping Packaging
For export, threaded pipes are bundled with plastic end caps (to protect threads), interleaved separators, secured with steel straps, and packed on ISPM-15 pallets or in steel crates. Couplings may be packed separately or hand-tightened. Labels include grade, thread type, dimensions, length, and heat number for safe sea freight.

1. How to protect threaded pipe ends during storage and transport?
Always keep plastic end caps on threads. Store pipes on level wooden pallets, avoid rolling or dropping. For galvanized threaded pipes, use caps and avoid moisture. If caps are lost, wrap threads with corrosion-inhibiting tape or apply rust preventive oil before storage.
2. What is the difference between end-threaded pipe and helically ribbed (threaded) tube?
End-threaded pipe refers to tapered or parallel threads cut/rolled on pipe ends for mechanical coupling. Helically ribbed tube (often called “threaded tube” in heat exchanger context) has continuous internal or external spiral ribs cold-rolled along the tube length to increase heat transfer surface area. They serve different purposes: one for joining, the other for enhancing thermal performance.
3. Can threaded pipes be reused after disassembly from a system?
Yes, if threads are not damaged. Inspect threads for galling, deformation, or corrosion. Clean and apply fresh thread sealant or PTFE tape before reassembly. For high-pressure or critical services, replace couplings and re-check gauge fit. Do not reuse damaged threads; re-threading may weaken the pipe wall.
