Application description
Widely used in drinking water supply systems, fire sprinkler lines, chemical process piping, wastewater treatment, and underground utility pipelines. Also suitable for food and pharmaceutical processing (food-grade epoxy lining), electrical conduit, gas distribution, and district heating/cooling systems. The smooth internal coating reduces friction and prevents scaling; the external PE coating provides corrosion protection in buried or harsh environments.

Production description
Steel pipe is shot blasted to Sa 2.5 and preheated. For internal epoxy lining: powder is electrostatically sprayed or fluidized into the pipe then heat cured. For external PE coating: polyethylene is extruded or sprayed onto the pipe. The coated pipe is cooled, tested for porosity (spark test), and ends cut back for field welding.

Shipping Packaging
For export, plastic coated steel pipes are fitted with plastic end caps, bundled with wooden separators and steel straps, packed on ISPM-15 pallets or steel skids, and protected with edge protectors. Coated surfaces may be wrapped with foam or polyethylene film. Labels include base pipe, coating type, dimensions, and heat number for safe sea freight.

Why Choose Us?
1.Factory Strength:Direct manufacturer with shot blasting lines, internal epoxy spraying (electrostatic/fluidized bed), external PE extrusion lines, and heat curing ovens, producing coated steel pipes from 20mm to 1620mm OD to GB/T 28897, DIN 30670, AWWA C213 standards.
2.Quality Assurance:Strict control of coating adhesion (EP ≥30MPa, PE ≥200N/cm), holiday-free (spark test 1.5-4kV), coating thickness uniformity, and chemical resistance; 100% porosity and thickness inspection.
3.Certifications & Reports:Mill test certificates for base pipe and coating materials with each shipment; third-party inspections (SGS, BV) and coating test reports (adhesion, thickness, porosity, salt spray, food-grade certification if applicable) available upon request.
4.Customization & Service:Wide base pipe materials (carbon steel Q235B/Q355B, API 5L, galvanized, stainless steel), diameters 20-1620mm, internal epoxy (250-500µm) and external PE (0.5-3.0mm), optional colors (RAL), food-grade epoxy for potable water, and fast lead times.
5.Export Packaging:Plastic end caps + foam/polyethylene wrapping + wooden separators + steel strapping + ISPM-15 pallets/steel skids + edge protectors + clear labeling for safe sea freight and coating protection.
FAQ
1. How to store plastic coated steel pipes to prevent coating damage?
Store on dry, level ground on padded wooden sleepers, keep pipes bundled with soft separators. Avoid rolling or dragging over abrasive surfaces. For outdoor storage, cover with UV-protective tarpaulin. Repair scratches with matching epoxy or polyethylene repair materials before installation.
2. What is the difference between internal epoxy (EP) lining and external polyethylene (PE) coating?
Internal EP lining (250–500µm) provides a smooth, hygienic, corrosion-resistant surface for drinking water, chemicals, or food products, reducing friction and preventing scaling. External PE coating (0.5–3.0mm) offers tough mechanical protection against soil stress, rocks, and moisture, ideal for buried or corrosive external environments. Dual coated pipe (EP inside + PE outside) is recommended for water transmission and underground pipelines.
3. Can plastic coated pipes be welded in the field?
Yes, but the coating must be removed 20–50mm from the weld area (cut-back). Weld using standard procedures for carbon steel. After welding, NDT (if required), clean and apply a field joint coating (heat shrink sleeve or liquid epoxy) matching the original coating system. Do not weld through the coating; it will burn and produce harmful fumes.
