Application description
Widely used in oil and gas transmission pipelines, water injection lines, fire water systems, geothermal pipelines, and chemical plant piping. Also suitable for offshore platforms, mining slurry lines, and underground or submerged services where excellent corrosion protection and cathodic disbondment resistance are required. The smooth FBE coating also reduces friction and improves flow efficiency.

Production description
Base steel pipe is shot blasted (Sa 2.5). It is then induction heated to 230-250°C. Epoxy powder is electrostatically sprayed onto the pipe surface, melts, flows, and cures to a uniform film. The coated pipe is water-cooled, inspected (holiday test), and ends cut back for field welding.

Shipping Packaging
For export, FBE coated steel pipes are fitted with plastic end caps, bundled with wooden separators and steel straps, packed on ISPM-15 pallets or steel skids, and protected with edge protectors. Coated surfaces may be wrapped with foam or polyethylene film to prevent abrasion. Labels include pipe grade, coating thickness, dimensions, and heat number for safe sea freight.

Why Choose Us?
1.Factory Strength: Direct manufacturer with integrated shot blasting lines, induction heating, electrostatic FBE spraying, and curing systems, producing single and dual layer FBE coatings on steel pipes from 21.3mm to 3048mm OD to international standards.
2.Quality Assurance: Strict control of coating adhesion (pull-off ≥20 MPa), holiday-free (5kV spark test), cathodic disbondment (≤6.5mm), and impact resistance; 100% thickness and porosity inspection; compliant with CSA Z245.20, NACE RP0394, DIN 30671, GB/T 23257.
3.Certifications & Reports: Mill test certificates for base pipe and coating powder with each shipment; third-party inspections (SGS, BV) and coating test reports (adhesion, thickness, hardness, porosity, cathodic disbondment) available upon request.
4.Customization & Service: Wide base pipe grades (API 5L Gr B–X80, ASTM A106, Q235B/Q355B), diameters 21.3–3048mm, coating thickness 300–1000µm, standard or high-temperature FBE (up to 150°C), cut-back length custom, and joint coating accessories supplied with fast lead times.

FAQ
1. How to store FBE coated steel pipes to prevent coating damage and UV degradation?
Store on dry, level ground on wooden sleepers with padded supports, keep pipes bundled and elevated. Avoid dragging or rolling pipes over abrasive surfaces. For outdoor storage beyond 3 months, cover with UV-protective tarpaulin as prolonged sunlight may reduce coating adhesion. Minor scratches should be repaired with liquid epoxy repair kit.
2. Can FBE coated pipes be used at high temperatures?
Standard FBE coating is designed for continuous service from -40°C to +110°C. For higher temperature applications (up to +150°C), high-temperature resistant FBE (HT-FBE) formulations are available, which maintain cathodic disbondment resistance and adhesion at elevated temperatures. Consult with us for specific requirements.
3. What is the difference between single layer FBE and dual layer FBE?
Single layer FBE (300–600µm) provides excellent corrosion protection and adhesion, suitable for most buried pipelines. Dual layer FBE (600–1000µm) adds a second abrasion-resistant outer layer (modified epoxy or polyolefin) without requiring a separate field joint coating system. Dual layer offers higher impact and mechanical damage resistance, ideal for rocky terrain, directional drilling, and offshore risers.
