Features high pressure resistance, excellent low-temperature toughness, good weldability, and uniform dimensional accuracy. Available grades: API 5L Gr B, X42, X46, X52, X56, X60, X65, X70, X80 (PSL1 / PSL2). Pipe type: seamless (OD 10.3–610mm), ERW (OD 21.3–610mm), LSAW (OD 406–1422mm), SSAW (OD 219–3048mm). Wall thickness: 1.5–60mm. Length: 6m, 12m, custom up to 18m. End finish: plain, beveled (for girth welding), or threaded with coupling. Surface finish: black (as-rolled), 3PE/FBE coated, or varnished. Manufacturing processes: hot finished/cold drawn seamless, high-frequency welded (ERW), JCOE/UOE (LSAW), spiral welded (SSAW). 100% hydrostatic testing and NDT (UT, MT, RT) per standard. Application description
Widely used in long-distance crude oil pipelines, refined product transmission lines (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel), natural gas transmission, and gathering pipelines in oil fields. Also suitable for offshore oil platforms, refinery interconnecting lines, and carbon dioxide transport. High strength, low temperature toughness, and pressure resistance ensure reliable operation in harsh environments.

Production description
Steel plate or coil is formed into pipe (seamless: pierced billet; welded: roll formed and welded). Pipe undergoes heat treatment (if required), is sized, 100% NDT inspected (UT and hydrostatic), and ends beveled for field welding. Corrosion coatings (3PE, FBE) are applied optionally.

Shipping Packaging
For export, oil transmission pipes are fitted with plastic end caps, bundled with steel straps, packed on steel skids or ISPM-15 pallets, and secured with edge protectors. Coated pipes receive additional moisture-proof polyethylene wrapping. Labels include grade, dimensions, length, coating type, and heat number for safe sea freight.

FAQ
1.How to store oil transmission pipes before installation?
Store on dry, level ground on wooden sleepers, keep pipes elevated. Maintain plastic end caps and moisture-proof wrapping for coated pipes. For non-coated ends, apply rust preventive oil if outdoor storage exceeds one month. Avoid heavy stacking that could deform pipes.
2.What is the difference between PSL1 and PSL2 in API 5L for oil pipelines?
PSL1 has basic requirements (no impact testing, limited NDT), suitable for low-pressure gathering lines. PSL2 has stricter chemistry, mandatory low-temperature impact tests (CVN), stricter NDT (100% UT), and higher toughness, required for long-distance high-pressure transmission lines, sour service, and cold regions. Most oil trunk lines use PSL2.
3.Can oil transmission pipes be field welded at low temperatures?
Yes, but special precautions are needed. Preheating to 100-150°C, using low-hydrogen electrodes, and maintaining interpass temperatures. For grades X70/X80, heat input control is critical to avoid HAZ softening. Low-temperature welding procedures (qualified per API 1104 or ISO 13847) should be followed. We provide WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) upon request for each grade.
