Application description

Widely used in power generation (utility boilers, industrial boilers), superheaters, reheaters, economizers, heat exchangers, and steam pipelines. Also suitable for nuclear power plants (conventional island), chemical processing (high-temperature reactors), and refinery heaters. The high creep resistance and oxidation stability make it ideal for supercritical and ultra-supercritical boiler systems.

Production description

Steel billet is heated, pierced, hot rolled, then cold drawn to precise dimensions. Pipe undergoes heat treatment (normalized, normalized & tempered, or Q&T) to achieve required creep strength and grain structure. 100% NDT (eddy current or ultrasonic), hydrostatic test, and dimensional inspection follow. Ends beveled for welding.

Shipping Packaging

For export, high pressure boiler tubes are fitted with plastic end caps, bundled with steel straps, packed on steel skids or ISPM-15 pallets, and secured with edge protectors. For bright annealed or pickled surfaces, VCI paper and moisture-proof wrapping added. Labels include grade, dimensions, heat treatment, and heat number.

Why Choose Us?

1.Factory Strength:Direct manufacturer with seamless cold drawing and hot rolling mills, heat treatment furnaces (normalizing, tempering, Q&T), and precision finishing lines, producing high pressure boiler tubes to ASTM, EN, JIS, and GB standards.

2.Quality Assurance:Strict control of chemical composition, creep rupture strength, tensile properties, grain size, and hardness; 100% eddy current or ultrasonic testing plus hydrostatic test; compliant with ASTM A192/A213/A335, EN 10216-2, JIS G3461/G3462, GB/T 5310.

3.Certifications & Reports:Mill test certificates (MTC) with each shipment; third-party inspections (SGS, BV, Lloyds) and test reports (tensile, hardness, flaring, flattening, creep) available upon request.

4.Customization & Service:Wide grade range (20G, 15CrMoG, 12Cr1MoVG, T11, T22, T91, P91, P92), OD 10.3–219mm, wall 1.5–30mm, custom lengths up to 18m, beveled ends, and heat treatment options with fast lead times.

5.Export Packaging:Plastic end caps + VCI paper (for bright/pickled surfaces) + moisture-proof wrapping + steel skids/ISPM-15 pallets + steel strapping + edge protectors + clear labeling for safe sea freight and corrosion protection.

FAQ

1. How to store high pressure boiler tubes before installation?

Store on dry, level ground on wooden sleepers, keep plastic end caps and moisture-proof wrapping intact. Avoid contact with water, acids, or chlorides. For bright annealed or pickled tubes, maintain humidity below 60% and apply protective oil if long-term storage required. Minor surface rust on carbon steel grades should be removed by light grinding or pickling before use.

2. What is the difference between 20G and T91 high pressure boiler tubes?

20G is a carbon steel grade for subcritical boilers with maximum service temperature around 450°C and moderate creep strength. T91 (or 10Cr9Mo1VNb) is a modified 9Cr-1Mo alloy steel offering much higher creep rupture strength and oxidation resistance up to 650°C, used in supercritical and ultra-supercritical boilers for superheaters and reheaters. T91 also has lower thermal expansion and better fatigue resistance.

3. Can high pressure boiler tubes be welded, and what precautions are needed?

Yes, but welding procedures must be qualified. For low alloy grades (15CrMoG, T11, T22), use low-hydrogen electrodes or TIG with matching filler, preheat to 150-250°C, and apply post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) to temper the heat-affected zone. For T91/P91, strict heat input control (≤2.5 kJ/mm), preheat to 200-300°C, and PWHT at 730-770°C are mandatory to avoid cracking. Use qualified welders and follow ASME Section IX or equivalent.
